Centrally located on the South Coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula, Middleton is the ‘middle town’ nestled between Victor Harbor and Goolwa.

1. Surfing

2. Alexandrina Cheese Company
Located within half an hour from Middleton, it’s worth the detour for the mouth-watering cheesecake, freshly brewed coffee and boutique cheeses such as Encounter Bay Edam or Fleurieu Feta.
3. Hindmarsh Falls
Just 15 minutes from Middleton, this cascading waterfall is best viewed in winter or after heavy rain. Wander through bushland bird-spotting for honey eaters, wedge-tailed eagles and thrushes, then stop for a picnic.
4. Whale watching
Middleton has a prime whale watching vantage point – Bashams Beach. Grab some binoculars and stop by for a glimpse of migrating Southern Right whales during South Australia’s cooler months (June-September).

9. Hindmarsh River Walks
The Hindmarsh River Estuary is a place of great natural beauty and ecological significance.

The Visitor Information Centre in Victor Harbor has maps with 5 different estuary walks of varying duration from 20 minutes to 3 hours.

Located in the nearby Goolwa Wharf Precinct, this local brewery produces preservative-free beers that will quench your thirst after a day of sightseeing around the region.
