Questions Commonly Asked by Beginners
Learning to surf is one of the best activities you can spend your free time with. We receive a lot of questions from interested people regarding surf lessons South Australia and here are the 10 best questions that we have encountered so far.
What if it's raining?
We understand what you are trying to say. The surf lessons will still continue even if it's raining because we will get wet anyway. The only way the surf lessons will be canceled is of course if there is a dangerous situation at hand. For example, it's raining heavily and the waves are dangerous. We do not want to risk your safety.
Is it possible for me to get sea sick while surfing?
If you have experienced being sea sick before, then there is a high possibility that you will get sea sick while surfing. If you want your surf lessons to push through and you are worried that you will get sea sick, you can take a sea sick pill or a non-drowsy pill to help manage it.
What do I need to bring?
Other than yourself, you need to bring sunscreen, swimsuit and of course water. Even if you are using a rash guard, you still need something to protect your face from. You must also bring water to keep yourself from getting dehydrated. Surfing is like exercising and you will lose a lot of body fluids while you are in this activity. You wouldn't even notice it because you're wet. Make sure to keep your self-hydrated so you can maximise your surfing experience.
What if I look fat in my rash guard?
You do not look fat! It gives more emphasis to your curves and muscles! Remember that the rash guards do not make you and do not define you, you make the rash guards! Keep that in mind.
Do I need to know how to swim?
Well, of course, you do because the waters are very unpredictable and you will fall a lot from your surf board considering that this is your first time. Your surf board can float away from you and you must know how to swim because drowning is not a very good way to spend your surfing experience. If this is the case, we can gladly give you other activities that you can enjoy as much as surfing.
Is it possible for me to learn surfing even if I am out of shape?
Surfing does not discriminate it loves all shapes and sizes. Do not stop yourself from enjoying a surfing lesson. Surfing is a fun activity not just for kids, teens, and adults. Surfing is not just for certain people, it is an activity made for everyone!
I have never surfed before; do I have a chance in learning?
If you really want to learn surfing so bad, the only thing that is stopping you is yourself. Surfing can be learned and if you have the passion for it no one can stop you. If you feel uncomfortable learning to surf with people, you can definitely hire a personal coach to help you out.
If this is my first time, what type or kind of surf lesson do I need?
We recommend that you get the private lessons so you can get the best results. But there are other options you can choose from if you want to be in a group.
Can I stand on the surf board on my first surf lesson?
You definitely can. Our professional instructors are trained to do so. They will make sure to help you ride your first wave in your first surf lessons.
